Where the Gain Goes: live results
Live, and public while the survey is open. Every answer given so far; nobody waits for a publication to see the findings.
Results of the practitioner survey that tests the forecasts in Where the Gain Goes.
Judge the sample before the numbers
This is a self-selected online survey, which is the weakest sampling method there is. The response count and channel mix are printed at the top of the results for that reason: they are the two figures that tell you how much weight the rest deserves, and they are published continuously rather than summarised once at the end.
A limitation this design creates. Publishing results live means later respondents can see earlier answers before giving their own, so the sample may be anchored in a way a closed survey would not be. That is the price of not asking anyone to trust me, and it is disclosed here rather than discovered later. Responses are day-stamped in the published dataset, so anyone can test for drift.
Pre-registered before the first response: below 400 responses, or with the sample mostly from one channel, this data stays on this page and is not quoted in any publication. It is graded at tier B at best, never A.

The raw data
The anonymised dataset is live and free to re-analyse under CC BY 4.0. It updates as responses arrive, a few minutes behind at most. It carries the answers, the day, the channel each response arrived through, and the country code once at least five responses share it. It leaves out the optional free-text answers and the salted hash used to stop repeat submissions.
